Romania

The compulsory education in Romania encompasses 4 years of primary and 4 years of middle-school education. In Romania, compulsory education lasts for 9 years and runs from 6 (or 7) to 16 years. This level of education is organized and managed by the Ministry of National Education.

Romania takes a discursive approach, arranging meetings with parents and therapists, teachers and pupils. Psycholigical testing is emphasised, and unspecific linguistic exercises are used in the identificaion process. Skills disorders must last at least six months to be considered as dyslexia, even when specialist intervention is being provided in the meantime.
