Comprehension

The act of reading is a complex process that draws on many different skills. Together, these skills lead to the ability of reading: reading comprehension, or understanding what’s been read. Comprehension is the ability needed to perform decoding, understanding and interpretation of what is read or heard, and to extract information from a text or spoken passage.
